Frances Esther Pierce

Frances Esther Pierce, 89, beloved wife for 58 years of the late Virgil Clifton Pierce, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Menorah Park Hospice in Beachwood, Ohio.
She was born in Oak Hill, Ohio on August 14, 1921 to Courtney and Frances (Kitchen) Shackleford, and raised after her mother's death by her father's mother, brother and sister - Bertha, Bill and Effie Ethel Shackleford - in Portsmouth, Ohio. She and her family lived in Dover-New Philadelphia from 1961 until 2006.
She was the loving mother of four, including Kathy Neslund of Marysville, WA; and loving grandmother of nine, including Cherstin, Jennifer and Erin Neslund of Marysville, WA. She was also a loving great-grandmother of four.
Visitation will be held at Botkin Funeral Home in Otway, Ohio at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2011 with service immediately following at 1:00 p.m.
Internment at Berea Chapel Cemetery on Rocky Fork.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Menorah Park Hospice, 27100 Cedar Road, Beachwood, OH 44122-1156.
