Gene Sprague Obituary



Gene Edward Sprague
AECS, Retired - KD7G

This kind, gentle, loving man left this earth on January 4, 2011. He was born March 3, 1930 in Akron, Ohio to Edward and Mervina Sprague.
Gene retired from the Navy after 20 years of service, his last ship was the USS Forrestal. He also retired from the Everett Post Office.
His loves were his family, the Church, music, Ham Radio, computers, people and driving. He drove in all but one state! He sang in the Windjammers Barbershop Chorus, was a member of the Skagit Ham Radio Club, and did a lot of volunteer work.
Preceding Gene in death were his father, Edward; mother, Mervina; sister, Arlene; and brother, Robert "Bud".
He leaves his wife of 59 years, Irene; children, Marlene Sprague, Alan Sprague, Darlene (Calvin) Rosenquist; his grandsons, Michael (Kodi) Rosenquist, Robert (Ashley) Rosenquist; and great- granddaugher, Audri Rosenquist.
Burial will be 1:15 p.m., January 13, at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, WA.
Memorial will be held at 1:00 p.m., January 14, at Marysville United Methodist Church, 5600 64th St. NE, Marysville, WA 98270.
No flowers please, donations may be made to Marysville United Methodist Church scholarship fund.
