My neat cousin, Sally, informed me this morning of Glen's passing. My mom, Helen, and Glen's mom were half-sisters and I always appreciated Martha's demeanor. My brother, Jim, associated with Glen quite a bit because of their mutual interest in the banjo and both living in Seattle. I saw Glen at my uncle Gene's funeral and again at my brother's funeral and enjoyed very much talking to him on both occasions and learning more about him. I've really enjoyed reading the guest book and about Glen's life and his neat family. God bless you.

I was the luckiest Grandson in the world to have a Grandpa that was so fun, loving and caring. I will always remember all the summers I spent with him as his little work buddy. No matter how tedious the work was he was always able to keep up and keep me company. he was always strong willed and never let anything stop him from doing what he wanted to do. he lived a full life and I will always look up to him.
I miss you Grandpa. I will always love you and cherish the memories of the greatest Grandpa in the world.

I didn't know Glenn very well but I have known his daughter, Karen, and son, Steve, for almost 10 years. I hope this section of a poem written by my daughter will bring all who loved him some comfort.
Don,t cry for me
There's no need for tears.
The end of my life
Was the end of my fears,
The end of my sorrows
The end of my pain,
The insignifigance of life
Now washed away by the rain.

May God's love and peace fill you all.

This past year I decided to have backyard chickens and started out with four chicks. Dad told his stories about the 100 chickens he had as a project in High School and made a lot of money selling his eggs to the school. I loved all his stories. Almost every day he would ask me if my chickens layed eggs yet and was so excited when all four were laying, only two months ago while he was in the hospital. I miss you so much Dad! I feel your spirit with me every moment. Dad and I were pals, friends, confidants, told me all his secrets and worries. He was very lonely the past few years and I spent as much time as I could with him, going fishing, watching old movies, going to the second hand stores, looking for ships for his fireplace mantal. He loved reading books and we ate so many pies with ice cream together after dinner. I miss my friend.

Dad, I wish I would have spent more time with you through the years than I did, but what time I did have with you I will cherish forever. I remember when I was about 8 years old I would sit on a stool in our basement where all your radios were set up and listen to you talk and send code to other hams around the world. The dits and dahs fasinated me. It was you that inspired me to get my license. I will miss you a lot. -- Steve KD7EKW

I am a first cousin of Glenn's, but sad to say we never really knew each other. My Dad & Glenn's Dad were brothers. Glenn was always smiling the few times I saw him. I am so sorry he has passed away and I didn't get to know him better. All my sympathy.

I've only met Gleen a few months ago through his daughter and I've never met a man so happy to see you when you stopped by and his humor was the greatest I've ever seen. He was very proud of his radio and the first time I was there he took me into his radio room and showed me his equipment. I know he loved his family very much.Even knowing him only a short time I will miss him at family gathering-Gary

Glenn was our neighbor and friend. He would come to small gatherings at our home and was well liked by our friends. He was happy and always willing to lend a hand if he was needed. We will miss his big smiles and his kind ways. We know there are angels all around him. With much love

It was the Christmases I remember the most about Grandpa. I remember showing up to his house to find bowls of nuts and fancy nutcrackers on the coffee table. Grandpa would be stoking the fire and I would sit, cracking nuts, waiting for him to start playing his banjo or guitar so we could join in and sing. I remember Grandpa's radio. He would let me talk to his friends from all over the world which made me feel important. Family was important to Grandpa. He always made sure we knew that. Finally, Grandpa was never the type of person to let anything get in the way of his goals. That is one lesson I will be sure to take with me and pass on to my children. We Love You and we will miss you Grandpa!!!

As a teenager I got started in Ham Radio. Glen was VERY HELPFUL to me and I always enjoyed going to his house. We lost track of each other over the years and we renewed our friendship a few years ago. He was a GREAT mentor and will be missed.
