Mom, you passed on in 2011 and would turn 105 in June, but I'm still missing your hugs and love. Just FYI, you have five great-grandchildren from me, and thanks for bringing me to the USA.

Helen and I have been friends for many years and still kept in touch. I would mail her scratch offs-she would scratch them off and mail them back to me with a note telling me to send better ones next time. I have so many fond memories of her and George when they were staying at my RV park in Baytown. I will really miss my "Scratch Off Buddy".

To a wonderful grandmother that I sadly never got to meet, I will miss our chats and your regular letters and cards, I am so glad you got to talk to your great grandson's and listen to you laugh with them. You are very dear to me and I am sorry so many years were missed in between. I shall miss you dearly and think of you all the time. Loving you forever and always, your granddaughter Chantelle

My deepest sympathy to Gordon, Nancy and family, Helen was a dear friend, we met in Cape Town, South Africa in 1963. Helen took me under her wing, helping me find an apartment, showing me where to shop for school uniforms, have my hair done and etc. We spent many fun filled weekends site seeing while Bill and George were working. Helen's life was so interesting, she told me about learning her father's shoe business and traveling with him to learn marketing, then moving to South Africa, and ending up owing her own shoe department in "Fletchers" department store in Cape Town, S.A. A year later we all had moved to Durban, S.A. Bill and I felt honored to stand up for George and Helen when they married. Later Helen and George left for their adventures in the Middle East, ending up in Victoria, Texas- remaining friends to the end. God Bless, - D'Loris Evans

Dear Gordon and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Helen was always such a loving and dear friend, and I will miss her. I will always remember how much she loved "baby Mark"! She crocheted and knitted a beautiful baby blanket and many baby outfits for him, and shared so many baby food recipes with me. Those gifts have been saved and will become family heirlooms, touching the lives of people yet to be born. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Kathy Symons

Dear Gordon & Family,
So sorry to hear about you Mother's death. Every time I saw her in town we'd play catchup. She was always such a joy to talk to & always had on her lipstick! I was actually just thinking about her the other day & wondering how she was doing.
Sincerely, Mary Jack (Wilson) Cooke

I met Helen over 17 years ago when my husband Cliff and I bought our first home next door to her and George. She immediately became like a grandmother figure to us. We lived there through the births of both of our children, Logan and Madison. They were very fond of Helen! We moved just across the way, but still visited Helen. She would stop by and see the kids and bring them a treat! When she moved to the Landing we would love to go visit her and her ducks that lived on the complex. Every year Cliff would go out and hang her Christmas lights for her, and we would take her Munster cookies! She loved them! I am so glad we were able to visit with her recently before she passed. We will miss her dearly!

At the moment of mom's passing I was in Seattle on the way to a meeting when all of sudden after having a rather unpleasant day, I suddenly had a burst of energy, joy come over me - having no clue why at the time. You see I did not find out she had passed until 5 hours later. Maybe she stopped by and gave me "its all clear message" before being with her heavenly father. Thanks mom - it was you I know!
