Henrietta "Edith" Kitzman

Edith was born in Frank, Russia on April 7, 1910 to George and Henrietta (Gettmann) Heimbigner and died January 3, 2011 in Arlington, WA. At age three, Edith and her family immigrated to Tacoma, WA and continued to live between Tacoma and Colorado.
Edith married Arthur Henry Kitzman in Greeley, CO on December 3, 1931. They moved to Tacoma where Edith worked for 29 years as a sales clerk for Sears, Roebuck. Art and Edith enjoyed dancing, babysitting grandchildren, and spending time with relatives.
Edith was a member of University Place Presbyterian Church. She moved to Arlington, WA to be close to her son's family in July 2007 and transferred her church membership to Mountain View Presbyterian Church in Marysville, WA.
Edith is predeceased by husband, Arthur; and daughter, Dolores Thornhill.
She is survived by son, Art (Cookie); son-in-law, Neil Thornhill; grandchildren, Deni Truax (Bill), Mike Thornhill and children Michael and Melissa, Brad Thornhill (Tonya) and children Cory, Zach and Taylor, Becky Kitzman and children Jake and Joey Lanter, Dave Kitzman (Shawna) and daughter Edie, born in 2010, 100 years after Great-grandma Edith.
Following husband Art's death in 2000, a memorial fund was established to purchase "Papa's House" outside Voronezh, Russia, a summer camping retreat for orphans. Donations suggested to "Papa's House Russian Ministry" through Mountain View Presbyterian Church, 5115 100th Street NE, Marysville, WA 98270.
Edith's service to be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, at University Place Presbyterian Church, 8101 27th Street West, University Place, WA 98466.
