Hilda Mae Cooperman

Hilda Cooperman peacefully passed away on March 27, 2011 in Portland, OR at the age of 95.
She was born on May 6, 1915, the youngest of three girls born to Samuel and Hilda Short. Hilda lived her early years on Indian Island near Port Townsend, WA and then in the Seattle area. She met her future husband, David Cooperman, in her sophomore year at West Seattle High School. They shared a wonderful life together until his passing in 2007 at the age of 91.
In l951, Dave and Hilda settled in Snohomish, WA to own the Suburban Oil Heat Company and several gas stations until their retirement in l982. They then moved to Edmonds and cherished their home above the ferry docks on Puget Sound.
Hilda started playing golf in her 60s and was an active member of Everett Golf and Country Club until her late eighties. She loved travelling the Northwest with her golf group to compete in tournaments, especially when she won.
Hilda is survived by those who loved and adored her, children, Dick Cooperman (Sue) and Carole Kinnune (Bill); grandchildren, Dave Cooperman (Randy Sampson), Julie Cooperman, Laura Santos (Joe); and great-grandchildren, Jamille, Grayson, Stella and Ryder.
Hilda will be deeply missed by all who shared her life. No service will be held. The family will gather this summer to celebrate the lives of Dave and Hilda at their most memorable places around Puget Sound, including Alki Beach and Kayak Point.
