Irene Moran was a class-act in every way. I liked her from the first time I met her. She had a warm personality and a desire to be of help.
During council meetings she created the minutes of the meeting by short hand. She was the perfect city clerk from 1957-1984, a span of 27 years.
I remember she rose in the ranks of the National Organization of City Clerks and she received many awards.
She became a personal friend of our family and we will miss her very much.

Dear John and Barb- Irene was an icon of strength and an inspiration to those of Edmonds. I admire her and am praying for her as she moves on into realms of joy and for you two as you honor her memory. I know that I am! See you tomorrow at the ceremony to celebrate her life, love Amy

John & Barbara,
Irene was a one of a kind loyal friend and my memtor. She was there to help me learn the ropes of a city clerk when I was Clerk-Treasurer for the Town of Woodway. When she retired she gave me the gift of Soroptimism and held my hand as I took on the various duties of the club. She mentored me, encouraged me, traveled to city clerk and Soroptimist conventions with me and loved me. But first and formost in her life was her son John and how happy she was to now have Barbara and family too. There was not another more loving mother or friend than Irene. Although I have not seen her in years, she is part of me and will remain in my precious memories forever.
My deepest sympathy

John, my thoughts and prayers are with you and Barb and family. Your mom was a wonderful person and I am glad to have met her. She was lucky to have you as her son and I know you will miss her. Losing a parent is hard but hopefully you have peace in knowing she is with Jesus now.
Your friend always, Becky
