James Francis Malsberry

James Francis Malsberry passed into the next life on December 21, 2012 surrounded by his sons and daughters. As he leaves one loving family he is reunited with his other family in Heaven.
James born in Indianapolis, Indiana on January 4, 1935 to Charles and Ana Pearl Malsberry. Born into a family of five they made there living on a farm growing most of what they needed to live on even when the family moved to Muskegon, Michigan. James or Jim to his friends, stayed on to farm life until he turned 16 at which point he joined the Air Force starting what would be years of service to his country. While serving he finished high school by earning his GED. While on a a weekend pass doing something he liked to do, indoor skating, he met and fell in love with Patricia Carol Keefe. Married on January 13, 1954 they did not wait very long starting a family. When Patricia or Pat to their friends gave birth to their 8th child, Jim retired from the armed forces after 14 years. He began his civilian life here in Everett by becoming an employee or the Warehouser Company. He was there a short time when he left there for Boeing but that did not agree with him either. He found what he was looking for when he applied and was hired with the City of Everett Street Department. Working there, he could use the skills he acquired in the Air Force as a heavy equipment operator thus starting his second career. There was something he liked doing which was roller skating so he took a second job during the evening working at the roller rink in Everett. This is how he met his wife and they both enjoyed skating together so working at the Skate Deck in Everett was both enjoyable and a source of a little extra money to help with their large family. Jim and Pat would often wow the patrons of the rink by having the owner clear the floor so he and his wife could perform skate routines for everyone's enjoyment. Routines like the Tango or Bunny Hop. They were also known to have started a Congo or two. After 44 years together his wife, Patricia was called to the Lord's side leaving Jim for a time. He retired form the street department after 37 years and also from the roller rink after working there for 32 years. It was at the time in his life he began his bowling hobby. He joined several bowling teams and made many friends as well. He joined the Single Sixties Club and was involved in many activities from bowling to going out to dinner and a movie with the club patrons. He was a wonderful man and even better father. He will be missed, he will be remembered, and he will always be loved.
James is survived by his loving and very devoted family, three daughters, Cynthia, Katherine, ad Mary Malsberry; and three sons, Benjamin (Suzanne), Patrick (Debbie) and Eric (Debbie) Malsberry; nine grandchildren: Chrystal (SSG Patrick) Rollman, Becky (Larry) Steenfott-Smith, Brianne Gustafon and Stacy Malsberry, Robert Steenfott, Josh and Travis Gustfon; Eric (Kristin) Bloom and Justin Malsberry; six great grandchildren: Kayla Cameron and Jacob Malsberry; Ashlyn, Anthony and Jaxson Smith; sisters, Ruth Ann Heaton, Sue Lasser of Muskegon, Michgan; Keefe family: Dan, Niel, Virginia, Alan, Lloyd, Paul; and many in-laws; cousins; nieces and nephews.
