James Seay Obituary


James "Jim" Lawson Seay

James "Jim" Lawson Seay of Stanwood, Washington passed away at home on Saturday, February 5, 2011.
He was born January 27, 1950 in Webster, North Carolina the son of Burl and Hazel Seay. The family moved to Washington in 1957. Jim attended Stan-wood, WA and Mount Vernon, WA schools. He enlisted in the Army and served from 1969 to 1971 in Korea and obtaining rank of Sergeant.
After serving he was a supervisor for Snohomish County, Port Engineer at Kenai Packers, lead mechanic at One Way Construction, and a self employed mechanic.
Jim was preceded in death by his son, James "Jimmy" Jr.; father; mother; and brother, Don "Gene"; and other chosen family.
He enjoyed welcoming people into his home which was a refuge and gathering place for many. Food was plenty and laughter was always heard around the bonfire. He also enjoyed the peace and serenity of his home away from home in the Methow Valley. He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and crabbing. He was a big fan of "start your engines" and "Go Dale Go!"
He is survived by his daughter, Leah; granddaughter, Lucy; brother, Terry (Debbie); and many nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.
Share in our celebration of his life at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the Stanwood Grange, 6521 Pioneer Hwy,. Stanwood, WA.
