Jennifer Bartleson Obituary

Jennifer Rae Bartleson (Mortensen)

Jennifer was born on June 4, 1969, and passed away peacefully on March 6, 2011 with her loving husband by her side.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, Steve Mortensen.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Eric Bartleson; her mother, Judy Mortensen; her brother, Rick (Claudia) Mortensen; her sister, Sharon (Steve) Singer; her grandmother, Peggy Watters; and many other family members and friends in the surrounding areas, and across the country.
She was raised in Lynnwood, WA. She graduated with honors from Watson Groen High School in 1987, and from Central Washington University Cum Laude in 1991. In her teens she was a counselor at Warm Beach Camp. During college, she worked at Miracle Ranch Camp for a summer. After college she worked at Conner Homes, and with D.R. Horton Construction until she became ill.
She married the love of her life, Eric Bartleson on March 18, 2000, and they resided in Woodinville, WA.
Jennifer enjoyed doing cross stitch, reading novels, making jewelry, watching old movies, and watching and singing along with musicals. She loved family vacations; especially Lake Curlew in Eastern Washington. Jenn had a wonderfully dry sense of humor, and enjoyed hearing and telling a good story. She adored her two dogs, Dara, and Chloe. She was passionate about her husband's cooking, and she was the #1 fan of Newport High School's Swim and Dive Team.
Although her health issues slowed her down over the past four years, she loved family get-togethers, hanging out with her girlfriends, keeping in touch with her e-mail friends, and loved family and friends to stop by for a visit.
Jenn will be missed dearly, and will always be in our hearts forever.
A Celebration of her life will be held April 2, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Eastgate Bible Fellowship, 15005 SE 36th St., Bellevue, WA 98006.
A reception will follow at Mercerwood Shore Club, 4150 E. Mercer Way, Mercer Island, WA 98040.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to: The Evergreen Healthcare Foundation, Hospice Services, 12040 NE 128th St., MS 5, Kirkland, WA 98034, or at any Puget Sound Blood Bank.

I was reading the paper yesturday and was saddened to see one from my childhood neighborhood has left us. Jenn and I use to play together in the Lynnwood neighborhood and even though I havent seen her in years I immediately recognized the shining face. She was a fun girl and I am saddened that we lost touch over the years. I am so sorry for your loss and hope you will find peace. My prayers are with her family and friends.

Dearest Jenn, I miss you. I will hear you singing and remember you every time I listen to Once More With Feeling, and I will smile. Save me a seat at your dinner party up there. I can only imagine who your guests will be. I love you.
