Jerry Steven McIntyre

Jerry Steven McIntyre, 62, of Monroe, WA died on February 1, 2011. Jerry was born at Monroe's Valley General Hospital to Albert and Helen McIntyre on May 7, 1948. He attended Monroe Public Schools, graduating in 1966. Jerry served honorably in the United States Army stationed in Fort Hood, Texas. He married and moved to Texas in the early 1970's where he worked in a variety of oil field positions as well as security.
Jerry served as a reserve deputy sheriff for Cass County Texas in the 1980's and served the state of Arkansas as a correctional officer for over ten years at the Bi-State Jail in Texarkana, Texas. Jerry married Vicki Perea on May 7, 1998. They moved back to Jerry's home town of Monroe where he served the state of Washington at the Monroe Correctional Complex as a correctional officer until he retired due to a medical condition.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Helen; his son, Cory; and his second wife, Jessie.
He leaves his loving wife, Vicki; his brothers, Mike (Florence) McIntyre, George McIntyre and Tom (Karen) McIntyre; his daughter-in-law, Heather Perea and her fiance, Blaise Ballew; his stepsons, Sam Perea and Frank Ragsdale; and his precious granddaughter, Rachel Lynn Perea, who was the light of his life; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jerry loved spending time with his three brothers going on fishing trips, telling great "fish stories", playing cribbage and watching football, always rooting for the Seahawks and the Huskies. Jerry will be remembered as a man who dearly loved each of his family members.
A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at 1:00 p.m., March 19, 2011 at the Monroe Evangelical Covenant Church, 202 S. Sam St. in Monroe with a reception following.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Monroe Fire Dept., Monroe Police Dept. or the Monroe Correctional Complex Memorial Fund.

I´m sad that he didn´t get to see his granddaughter get engaged; he would´ve loved my fiancé. I miss you, Papa.
