Joan LaNor (Stretch) (Law) Weiss

Joan Weiss died peacefully in her sleep Friday, May 4, 2012.
Mom was born May 17, 1928 in Everett, WA and adopted at birth by Claude and Ellen Stretch of Startup, WA. She grew up in Startup and was a renowned "pool shark" and tomboy. She lived most of her adult life in Monroe, WA.
She is survived by her four children; sons, Jim Law (Jan) of Redmond, WA, Jay Law (Jennifer) of Goldbar, WA; and daughters, Judy Ohlsen (Roger) of Snohomish, WA and Jill Hoffman (Bob) of Bend, OR. In addition she is survived by eight grandchildren, Jodie Kendziora, Janene Varden (Jeff), Travis Law (Lauren), Tyler Law, Brianne Summer (Kyle), Brandon Hoffman, Kathryn Everett, Rachel Law; and four great grandchildren, Dylan, Dalanie, Brookelyn and Mathew.
She was preceded in death by her father; mother; and brother, Tom Stretch.
She loved her family, friends, animals, gardening, swimming and trips to Reno with the gang. She spent many wonderful days at the cabin on Lake Roesiger. She loved knitting afghans for her entire family and gave many others to friends, all were cherished by those who received them. For years she had a greenhouse and truly had a "green thumb". Mom was a wonderful caring person and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
At her request there will be no service.
