Joan Peck Obituary

Joan May Peck

Joan Peck, 83, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at her home in Edmonds, WA from complications brought on by lung cancer. She lived a full life.
Joan was born September 28, 1928 in Grantham, England. She married Walter Oates, an American soldier, during WWII and then made the long journey by boat to America. She settled in the Seattle area with her new husband and raised six children there.
After her husband passed away, Joan married John Peck, who had three children of his own. They blended their families into one and were married for 37 years, until her passing.
Joan enjoyed her family very much, as was evident by the many, many pictures that covered the walls of her home. She loved gathering with family, spending time with friends and bathing in the sun.
Joan joins her first husband, Walter Oates; daughter, Suzanne (Mike) Shelly, and grandson, Damon Lowry, in passing.
She is survived by her husband, John Peck; and her children, Joanne (David) Hotovitsky, Carol Marsall, Gary (Cindy) Oates, Scott (Alice) Oates and Andrew Oates; and her step-children, Pam (Rick) Kujula-Richman, Mary (Rusty) Van Dyk and Nancy (Peter) Peters. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She will be dearly missed.
A celebration of life will be held in her honor on Saturday, February 5, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. -10:00 p.m. at the Edmonds Senior Center.
