Joan was such an amazing person, she was my busdriver for the past few months, she got to know us, and she cared. I really miss her.

Joanie was so much fun to work with out at the farm, sorting cherries and strawberries. We laughed and laughed - that's what I will remember about her, her laughter. Chris's sister, Theresa

Joan was such a sweet lady. She was my girl's school bus driver for a short while & she always had a smile on her face & would wave to me as they drove away. She would give the kids candy on special days. My little girl loved that! The last time I spoke to her I was helping out at school & she came over to tell me what sweet girls I had & that she missed the little ones she drove to school. I was so happy I got to meet her & that we had a few minutes to get to know each other, but mostly I was happy to say thank you for bringing my girls home safely every day. It made her happy when I told her that. We all were so sad to hear she passed away. I have her smile & our conversation inbedded in my thoughts when I think of her. May she rest in peace. Eventhough it was brief, Thank You Joan for touching our lives

Dear family,
I am glad that I had the chance to meet several of you at the care center where Joan spent her last days. My relationship with Joan was through work as drivers for the Stanwood/Camano School Dist. I must admit I teased her and other drivers quite alot. One time that sticks in my mind is when the mechanics had mistakingly thrown a part they needed in the trash bin. I was standing and talking with the guys while they dug around in the bin...Joan approached and wondered what was going on. I told her they were looking for a large rat and as she looked over the edge I yelled out and grabed her...of course she was mad as all get out but she knew it was all done in fun! But I think she kept a watchful eye on me after that.
My wife and I have a previous committment out of town and so I will not able to attend her service.
Please accept my sympathy in the loss of your mother Joan. May you all wrap yourselves in the care and concern of loving family and friends...and take comfort from being held in the hearts and minds of so many who care about all of you.
Sincerely...Ernie Baus
