John Arthur Carpenter, 88, of Sultan, WA went to be with the Lord on December 4, 2013. John was born on November 24, 1925 in Tonopah, Nevada. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mable Welch Carpenter and Albert A. Carpenter; his sisters, Mable Luella, Beulah, Georga, Violet, Effie Vauneta, Norma, Mona, Armeta, Amanda; and his brothers, Paul Leslie, and Albert. John is survived by his loving wife of nearly 68 years, Nadine Carpenter; and his son, Gordon Carpenter and wife Dorothy; and daughter, Daylene Blizard and husband Bob. He was also a proud grandfather to Gavin and Katrina Rider, Karla and Gabe Boe, Mike and Ginger Carpenter, and Jacob Carpenter. He was happy to have met his great grandchildren, Kyle, Collin, DeLaney, Khloe, Gracie, Owen, Amelie, Charlie, Flynn and Ruby. John was a Navy Veteran, he worked at Boeing for several years, and then went on to retire from Dallas and Mavis Trucking in 1985. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. John spent his retirement years visiting with his family and friends and enjoying life with Nadine. John will be remembered as a wonderful Husband, a great Dad, an awesome Grandpa, a super loving great grandfather, and a good friend. He will be missed by all. Uncle John I wish I could set with you again and listen to your memories of the old times again. I wish I would have recorded those wonderful tales. We love you Uncle John. May all of us who miss you remember the great things you have done
