John Marquardt Obituary

John Robert Marquardt

John Robert Marquardt, 88, of Edmonds, WA passed away on February 2, 2011.
John was born on May 8, 1922 in Laramie, WY and was raised in Salida, CO. A veteran of the Army Air Force, he served in World War II from 1940 through 1945.
He then moved to Seattle where he met his wife of 59 years, Bernice, and where he worked for the Boeing Company as a Production Engineer for 31 years before retiring at the age of 55.
John was a member of the Elks Club and an enthusiastic sportsman. His hobbies included fishing and hunting, both here in the U.S. and in Canada. He was a Seahawks season ticket-holder for many years and was a fan of the Mariners and the Huskies as well.
John is survived by his wife, Bernice; daughters, Linda and Shirley; sister, Mary Cowen of Denver, CO; brother, Jim (Pat) of Enumclaw, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to all the medical staff that aided with John's needs this last year. Although this last year was a challenging one for John, he always managed to keep his great sense of humor, which we will miss.
Per John's request, there will be no service.

I'm so sorry about your loss! The one lasting memory and similarity I had with John was his love for Seattle sports. Lets hope he can be our "Angel in the Outfield" and help influence those Seattle teams minus the Huskies towards many victories and championships.

I am not sure how we are related, my grandfather was James Arthur Marquardt. He was killed in a train accident in 1915. While looking through the internet this obituary came up, which gives me to conclude that in some way we are related. As I read the profile on John its obvious the Lord blessed John R. Marquardt with many talents and a long beautiful life. I extend my sympathy toward his family and friends. Oddette Saxon, Tahlequah, OK
