John Sheldon Obituary


John W. Sheldon

At the age of 82, John W. Sheldon went to be with the Lord on January 29, 2011.
A 50-year resident of Edmonds, WA, John loved his family and friends and was a witness to all in his faith in Christ.
A long-time member of Esperance Baptist Church, a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, and a graduate of Iowa State University with a Degree in Civil Engineering, John began his career working in the oil fields of Venezuela for over ten years. After returning to the states, he was employed by Constructors Pamco for 27 years and by Guy F. Atkinson for 17 years as a Civil Engineer Project Estimator, retiring in 2008 at the age of 80.
John is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lee Sheldon; one son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Carol Sheldon, of Edmonds, WA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Jeff Wilson, of Edmonds, WA, and Kay and Frank Gallo, of Puyallup, WA; three grandsons, Scott Sheldon, Brent Gallo and Alex Gallo; five grand-daughters, Kayleen Wilson, Shannon Wilson, Danielle Sheldon, Madison Sheldon and Regan Gallo; two brothers, Gilbert Sheldon and Donald Sheldon; and one sister, Shirley Blake, all of Iowa.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Esperance Baptist Church, 7812 224th Street SW, Edmonds, WA 98026.
Interment will be at Edmonds Memorial Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in care of Esperance Baptist Church.
