Jon Philip Westover

Jon Philip Westover, born January 1, 1948 in Santa Cruz, California, passed away suddenly March 23, 2013.
Raised in Southern California, Jon attended Colton High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army, serving in Korea from 1965-1967. Jon married in 1970, moved to Idaho in 1971 and relocated to Washington State with his family in 1976. A carpenter by trade, Jon ran his own construction company for two decades, constructing many of the suburban housing communities in the greater Seattle area.
Jon was a man with a brilliant mind, a generous spirit, and a loving heart. He was always inspiring those around him, working hard and playing harder. Jon was known for doing things in his own way, even when at times it was very unconventional. Never hesitating to lend a helping hand to those in need, Jon always made everyone around him smile. He was always the life of the party and left a lasting impression. Jon loved his family and friends deeply and will be greatly missed.
Jon is survived by his daughters, Angela (Scott) Blair of Port Orchard, WA and Rachel (Drew) Asimakopoulos of Seattle, WA; four grandchildren, Carsyn, Addison, Berkley, and Shepard; his parents, Cecil Westover of Weiser, ID and Betty Del George of Colton, CA; sister, Sandi (Jim) Resheske of Colton, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Believers Fellowship in Gig Harbor, WA, on May 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.
