Joe was born in Portland, Oregon to Sculpture Herman Ehrman (1888-1933), and Rose Shafron Ehrman. In 1935 when Joe was 9 and his brother Bernard was 11 years old, their mother married Abraham Kosher and they re-located to Everett.

Joe attended schools in Everett and was an honor student at Everett High School. After graduation in 1944 he went to work with his adopted father in the family business, Kosher Auto Wrecking in Everett. Joe married the love of his life Rosalie Russak of Seattle. They have two sons, Cary Wynn (Cathy) and grandsons, Lance Elliot and
Logan Trent, Lonnie Kosher (Michele) and grandchildren, Zakary Louis and Sabrina Rose Marie.
During his life Joe belonged to the Everett Yacht Club, Everett Elks, Sertoma Service Club, and proudly served as a board member of the Puget Sound Kidney Centers. He was also a member of Temple Beth Or in Everett.
Joe was a generous man who helped family and friends with sound advice and finances. His favorite charities were the Kidney Auxiliary of Puget Sound (KAPS), The LAM Foundation, Smiles Without Borders, and various local organizations anonymously.
Joe and Rosalie had a magical life of dancing. They were members of the Carousel and Reveleer Jubilee Dance Clubs. Joe loved to plan family cruises and trips to Palm Desert, Mexico, and the Hawaiian Islands. He created invitations and planned these special surprises yearly. Joe loved entertaining family and friend with his gourmet cooking. Joe and Rosalie entertained often and were known for their yearly Mexican Fiesta party.
Joe loved cars and rebuilding them. He and his friend George Lancaster once re-built a British Green 49 MG TC. His favorite personal car was his James Bond Aston Martin.
Joe enjoyed his cousins who live in Vancouver, Canada, and was especially close to the Dichter and Zambrowsky families in Bellevue, WA.
Joe will be missed by his wife, family and many friends.

A memorial service will be held May 10, 2013 at 1:30 p.m., Temple Beth Or, 3215 Lombard Avenue, Everett. A celebration of life will be held June 1, 2013 at 5:00p.m., Mill Creek Country Club, 15500 Country Club Drive, Mill Creek, WA1521 142nd Pl SE Mill Creek, WA 9801-2.
