Kenneth ODell Engberg, 72, passed away peacefully January 30, 2013. Ken was born in Carrington, ND on July 2, 1940 to Lester Robert Engberg and Dorothy Jane Laughlin, Engberg.
Kenneth ODell Engberg
Ken was happily married to Diane Gray, Engberg for 52 years. Ken was often asked how he could stay married so long and still be happy; he always said marriage is like a job, you work at it.
Ken is survived by his four sons, Kenneth (Terri), Shane, Todd (Sheri) and Bret (Teri); eight grandchildren, Nicholas, Lisa, Stephan, Vanessa, Sebastion, Christopher, Brittney and Derreck; six great-grandchildren, Dakota, Madison, Ryan, Traton, Tyson and Braylon; his brothers, Robert (Jeannine) of San Antonio, TX and Rodney (Maud) of Edmonds, WA; beloved sister, Betty (Chris) of Nixon, MT; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A special thanks to the staff at the Hematology and Medical Oncology center at North Puget Sound Cancer Center, who showed incredible skill and love for Ken in his last days. Ken is on a new journey now, he will meet up with his beloved grandson, Brandon Engberg, who left too soon, one year ago.
Ken's wishes are simple as he was a simple man; there will be no service, and only a private memorial. Ken will eventually find his way to the Pacific Ocean, the place he loved so much.
There will be a headstone for Ken at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park in Everett.
In lieu of flowers, Ken has asked a donation be made to the North Puget Sound Cancer Center, 2000 Hospital Dr., Sedro Woolley, WA, 98284, or your favorite animal shelter.
