Larry John Dressel, 72, passed away February 4, 2014 at home in Port Charlotte, FL. He was born September 7, 1941 in Minneapolis and moved to Everett at age five. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and Hilbert (Dutch) Dressel; his four legged; Missy (Fredricka), who was his life saver. He is survived by his loving wife, Patty; daughters, Kimberly Bryant (fiancé, Jim Davis); Kelly Monahan (Jim); sons, Shane; Larry (Carolyn) and eleven grandchildren. Larry was a devoted firefighter in the City of Everett for 32 years, retiring in 1994 as Assistant Chief. He was very proud of his profession and his accomplishments as the youngest Pipeman, Captain, Battalion Chief, and Assistant Chief. He was well respected by those who worked with him. He was a member of IAOFF for 53 years, Everett Elks for 43 years, and Snohomish Eagles for 46 years. Larry was an avid fisherman, spending many hours at Fish Lake with friends and family, specially his Dad. He enjoyed camping, barbequing steaks over the camp fire, fishing, traveling, NASCAR, football, basketball and driving his 1966 Rambler Ambassador convertible he had restored. Larry and Patty spent the winters in Florida where he enjoyed cruising to the Caribbean, working in the yard, watching his Washingtonian Palm tree grow, along with his tomatoes, potatoes and pineapple plants. Larry loved to dance and party. He lived his life "HIS WAY". No memorial services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions can be made in Larry Dressel's name to the Seattle Burn Unit at Harborview Hospital.
