Laurel Dizard Obituary

Laurel Kathleen Dizard

Laurie was unexpectedly called away to be with God on February 3, 2011 at age 52.
She was a mother to every child who walked in her door and a friend to everyone she encountered. Laurie was born February 24, 1958 to John and Sharon Beukers, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Lynnwood High School in 1976 and in 1978 married her high school sweetheart, Dave Dizard.
She leaves behind her loving husband; her two children, Jeff Dizard and Diana Austin (Jeremiah); and two grandchildren Hannah (6) and Mason (5).
Laurie dedicated herself to raising her children, and was proud to support them in pursuing their hopes and dreams. She lived to see Jeff perform live comedy and Diana and Jeremiah play music in various bands. Her greatest joy in her final years was spoiling and spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Laurie loved unconditionally, and her home became a refuge to many kids who needed a place to belong.
Laurie's memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday February 11, 2011, at Grace Community Chapel in Mukilteo, followed by a reception at the Alderwood Manor Youth Club.

Laurie lived the life she loved with her loving husband and her wonderful son and daughter and granddaughter and grandson ... even though she is no longer on this earth, she will live on in our hearts and memories. May God comfort you, Dave, Jeff, and Diana, and grant you His peace, as you look forward to the never-ending family reunion where there will be no more sorrow or pain or separation.

I met Laurie on several occasions through her daughter, Diana. Each time we spoke, she was kind, loving, and encouraging. This left an indelible impression on me. I can only imagine how many others she touched with this love over the course of her life. She will be greatly missed.

Dear David and family,
Words can't express my sadness over the loss of your beloved Laurie. We all had such a good time together at our birthday lunch last October and I loved the way you two would kid each other. Try to take care of yourself and lean on your mom and dad for support. They love you very much and and they will be there for you. My heart goes out to you.
