Laurene Paris Obituary

Laurene Alway "Sis"
Paris

Laurie, beloved wife of John, passed away on March 23, 2011.
She was born in Everett, WA on January 21, 1924 to William and Laura Seaberg and grew up in Everett. She graduated from Everett High School in 1941. In 1944, she graduated from Providence Hospital School of Nursing where she was a member of the Cadet Nursing Corps.
Just before graduation, she met the love of her life, John, and they married on May 1, 1944. They would have celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on May 1 of this year.
Laurie worked for Dr. George Moore for most of her nursing career and got to know many Everett residents.
Family was extremely important to Laurie. She and John were very active in their daughter Chris' life, especially with the Skyline Vanguards Riding Club. Family outings to Birch Bay became Laurie's favorite vacation, with all the relatives sharing in.
When her grandchildren Jamie and Casey arrived, Laurie and John took an active part in their lives also.
In addition to John, Laurie is survived by her daughter, Chris Hayes; stepson, John Paris; granddaughter, Jamie (Ralph); grandson, Casey (Kim); great-grandchildren, Quinn and Eills; and her sister, Bille (Larry).
Her sister, Willa, preceded her in death.
At Laurie's request, there will be no funeral services. However, there will be a celebration of her life on Sunday, April 3, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at 615 35th Street, Everett. All are invited.
The family would especially like to thank the staff on the 4th floor of Bethany at Pacific, both for their kind and compassionate care during the last three years of Laurie's life, and for their support when the end was near.

John, Chris and Family,

It has been too long since I have seen my childhood friend who was so very patient with me when I could not keep up with her sports abilities. I loved her humor, her family and especially her friendship. John was such a loving husband and Chris a devoted daughter. Laurene was my mentor when I became a mother and I don't think I would have made it without her. She was especially helpful when Laurel broke her leg at age one. I would consult with Laurene before any doctor appointments no matter what the reason for the visit. It was her recommendation to seek Dr. Moore who became our family physician. Laurene was always there when I needed support.
A wonderful giving and sincere friend who will not be forgotten.

My dear John, You are one of the most loving devoted husband that I have ever met. Laurie was very lucky and I think she knew it. May the Lord comfort you always.

John, Chris, and Family,

My heart goes out to you all for the loss of your beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. I am so glad to have known Laurie. She was very unique, fun, and always there to lend a hand. Laurie was meticulous in all she did while living life to the fullest! Although I have not seen her for many years my life was enriched by Laurie (and John) in many ways...joys and memories I will never forget. You are in my thoughts prayers. May the Lord comfort you in your time of sorrow.

Love, Susan Morales (Green)
