Lena M. Susort

Lena M. Susort, 91, of Everett, WA, passed away April 26, 2011.
She was born in Russell, IA on November 28, 1919. She moved with her family to Cheney, WA after high school graduation.
Lena moved to Alaska in 1939. She met her husband Carl Susort in Sitka, AK. They were married in Everett, WA and resided in the Silver Lake area until their deaths.
Lena enjoyed her retirement years and traveling to Arizona for the winter. She enjoyed family gatherings, sewing, knitting and jigsaw puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Susort of 63 years; her parents, Guy and Hazel Baker; brothers, Cleo "Bus" Baker, George, Cecil and John Baker; and her sister, Kathryn Melby.
Lena is survived by her daughters, Carole Jacobson of Everett and Sonya Popp of Independence, MO; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2011 at Solie Funeral Home and Crematory in Everett. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Hospice and Home Care of Snohomish County, 2731 Wetmore Avenue, Suite 500, Everett, WA 98201.
