Leonard Davis Obituary

Leonard Joseph Davis
Leonard Joseph Davis, 80, of Cypress, CA, formerly of Snohomish, WA, died April 1, 2011.
Len was born in Vancouver, B.C. He became a naturalized U.S. citizen at the age of two.
He lettered in football at Snohomish High School, where he graduated in 1949. Soon after, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. In 1952, while stationed at Hill Air Force Base in Utah, he met and married Coline Price.
After leaving the military, Len joined the Civil Aeronautics Agency, which later became the Federal Aviation Administration, and became a FSS Specialist in Alaska. While there, Alaska went from being a territory to the State of Alaska. After nearly nine years in the Last Frontier, he bid on positions in Los Angeles, where he eventually retired and took up the world of golf. He marshaled at a couple of courses and sampled many more from Mexico to Hawaii.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Coline; one daughter and her husband, Verlynn Davis-Keyser and Thomas Keyser; two sons and their wives, Roger and Brenda Davis and Richard and Michelle Davis; and five grandchildren.
Memorial services are to be held at GAR Cemetery in Snohomish on Memorial Day weekend, 2011.

Len was one of my 1st supervisors at LAX FSS 1967. We were friends for many years and played many, many golf games and tournaments together. It was a pleasure to have him as a friend for so many years. He will be missed by many of his friends. God Bless and RIP Friend. Fred & Judy Kelly

I was so sorry to hear of Len's passing--he had put up such a brave fight for so many years. The last time I talked to him was after his 80th birthday and he was so happy he'd been able to get out on the golf course again for awhile. He was hoping to get up to Snohomish for our next class reunion. We'll miss you, Len.
