Loretta Joann Critchlow Loretta Critchlow passed away peacefully at home on August 20, 2013 at the age of 73 after a six year battle with cancer. Loretta was surrounded by family at the time of her passing. Loretta was born in Crosby, North Dakota to Theodore and Dorothy Fordahl in 1939. The Fordahl family eventually settled in Bremerton where Loretta graduated from Central Kitsap High School in 1957. On April 18, 1959 she married the love of her life, Jim Critchlow. Jim and Loretta moved to Edmonds where they raised three children and shared 54 years of marriage. Loretta enjoyed travelling with her husband, golfing, gardening, morning coffee in Edmonds with her "Starbuck's Family" and spending time with her amazing grandchildren. We will miss her beautiful flower pots that surrounded the house telling us summer was here. Loretta is survived by her beloved husband, Jim; sons, Mike and Jeff (Shelli) Critchlow; daughter, Julie (Dave) Bilyeu; grandchildren, Courtney, Jordyn and Cole Critchlow; Carter, Danielle and Mitchell Bilyeu. She is also survived by her mother, Dorothy Fordahl; brother, Tom Fordahl; and sister Toni Shauers. "Grandma, we can still feel your warm hugs and hear your encouraging words. You will be in our hearts forever." "We love you Mom and will cherish all the wonderful memories you have given us. We are better people and better parents from being raised by you." "Loretta, you were my wife and my best friend. The emptiness is so strong, but I know you are in the arms of the lord. I love you." Interment will be at Edmonds Cemetery. Loretta did not wish for a funeral; she asked that her family quietly share this time together.
