After 93 years of a full life lived in Everett, Lorraine Priebe died peacefully on June 23, 2013.
Lorraine E. (Forslund) Priebe
Lorraine was born in her grandmother's home on December 10, 1919, to Sam and Emily Forslund.
She attended Everett schools, graduating in 1938 from Everett High School, where she pursued her interest in music.
In 1940 she married Fred Priebe. They had two children, Carolyn and Bill. Lorraine was a full time mom and active in the community.
She was also involved in the family businesses. She especially enjoyed her work in the Priebe Gallery, where her keen sense of color and artistic talents helped create many lovely pieces.
Lorraine enjoyed traveling to many countries as well as trips across the United States. One of her fondest memories was her trip to the Holy Land.
Her faith in God was the source of her being. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Snohomish until her health failed.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her brother, Gene Forslund; husband, Fred Priebe: son, Bill Priebe; and son-in-law, Dick Johnson.
She leaves her daughter, Carolyn Johnson; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Priebe; grand-daughters Heidi Ildhuso (Gunnar), Tina Olson (Brett), and Shannon Middleton (Jerry); great grandchildren Tiffany, Blake and Brock Olson, and Gunnar III and Helle Ildhuso. Also many nieces, nephews and their families.
The family would like to thank Laura and George Dirtu and their staff for the wonderful, loving care
Lorraine received. Also, the special people at Providence Hospice and the Home Care of Snohomish County, for their expert teams of loving and professional caretakers. Their care and support was invaluable.
A special thanks too, to her niece, Marilyn Klose, for her countless hours of reading, support and loving attention. Plenty of delicious treats too!
It is Lorraine's wish that any remembrances be made to Providence Hospice and Home Care of Snohomish County - 2731 Wetmore Ave., Suite 500 Everett, WA 98201.
Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 29 at 3:00 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery located at 4504 Broadway in Everett, Washington. A reception will follow the service.
