Days have passed and you are always with me. I am thankful for that. I carry you in my heart. I just miss talking to you, laughing with you, and seeing your face. Holidays are just ahead and that makes me feel my loss all over again. Love you!

Peggy,
Thank you for being the grandma you were to my wife and the great grandma you were to Anna and Cade. Not many of us will grow up to have memories of our great grandparents, but my kids will have lasting memories of you forever.

The unconditional time you spent with them, getting to know them, spoiling them, and your love. They talk of you often which is a reflection of your bond, and that is special.

For me, I am going to miss our conversations. Family gatherings, which at times seemed excessive, allowed us to build our relationship. I will cherish how we could talk about current events, family, past experiences and even a few things which were only for us. We did this without a script and I always looked forward to it. Now I realize those gatherings were not excessive and wish we could have one more conversation. I hope you understood what you meant to me. I love you.

Such a sweet sweet woman. So gentle and so loving. This world was a better place for having Peggy in it. I will never forget her or the impact she had on my life.

My thoughts and prayers are with her family. I hope your hearts heal, the sadness lessens and the joy she brought into your lives sings loudly.

God Bless you Peggy!

February 23, 2011

Dear Peggy. I'm sorry that I didn't have the opportunity to say a proper "good-bye". But that's not true - there were plenty of opportunities, but also plenty of "tomorrows", "next weekends", or "the next time I'm in town". And then you realize the opportunities to tell someone you love them and miss them have passed. I love you and will miss you. You have always made me feel a part of your life and your family from the first time we met, to the last time I saw you this past Christmas. You're the only one who ever told me I look handsome with grey hair. You didn't owe me money so I knew it was sincere :) I don't know if I'll ever have another Mother-in-Law, but you will always be the first one - and that means something. You will be remembered, cherished and loved. --Fred

Mom, your birthday was very hard for me and Linda. I wish we could celebrate together. 83 is a wonderful reminder of your life. We are so thankful to have had you for all these years.
Linda and I had planned a wonderful reception for you, with your lovely pictures . Everyone came to be with you. It was wonderful, and I know you would have enjoyed it. All your friends and all the people that you loved were there.

I miss you so much, and I wish that I could talk to you now.

Peggy was such a wonderful person. She was so kind and understanding. I shall alwasy remember the fishing trips to Uculet you always caught the most fish and made the trips so much fun. We enjoyed so much the opening of fishing season at your place and having you and Gene coming tp The Canal for crabbing even though we never got as many crabs as we expected the company was great.

Thinking of you.

I told him that we can honor you by being just as kind and sweet as you and reminded him that every day is better then a birthday where in heaven. I was so proud of all the boys yesterday as they stood and spoke of their love for you. You brought so much to their life. Michael and I miss you so much. I thank you for being so amazing. Dear Mom,
I am so thankful that God chose you to be my mom and for your long and wonderful life.

Always doing something for others, so generous and sweet you are, ready to help where ever you can. I thank you for all that you accomplished, for all that you have done for all of us.

You are amazing, whenever Linda and my friends came over you were part of the gang, visiting and having fun. They all loved you, too.

Being able to see you everyday for the last three years has been a blessing. Our dinner and movie nights, cocktails while watching 2-1/2 men, games and outings. I am so thankful I was able to share that time with you and I will miss you forever. I miss your smile and the sound of your laugh. I miss how your face would light up when I got home from work.

I know you are in a better place surrounded by love, family and friends. We will be together again one day.

Until then, please watch over all of us, as we all love and miss you.

Love you forever,
Vicki

Thank you so much for everything- your sweet words, hugs, kisses, cookies, Yahtzee... for welcoming us out to your home, and even letting us bring our crazy dogs! I'll never forget the cozy, warm feeling I had at your home when Dan and I would visit you and Gene for lunch or dinner years ago. Sometimes I didn't want to leave. You are one of the sweetest, most caring, generous people I have ever met. Truly beautiful. Thanks for loving and accepting me so easily and warmly :) I am so blessed to have known you.

Peggy(Mom),
As I look over the last 42 years since you married our dad I have tried to sort out some of my favorite memories of the times we shared as a family. As usual mine all revolve around fishing or the family barbeques at the
lake. One such memory was the fishing trip to Uculet, BC. Although the fishing wasn't that great and dad got a little sea sick we still had a great time as a family.
Thank you for all the opening days of fishing seasons when you always had food and hot drinks when the kids and I came in from freezing from the cold. You always did the without complaining or any indication of being bothered, although I'm sure you were thankful when the day ended.
You always made me feel that I was one of your own children patiently listening to all my ongoing fishing and hunting stories, even though you may not have been totally interested.
You were a great parent to me. We will miss you.

Love always,
Jerry and Michelle

peggy was a lady from the old school - she always made me feel welcome and important - she had a gracious style and her daughters devotion to her spoke volumes of the type of mother she was - charming and intelligent she didnt let the world go by as evidenced by her willingness to learn new things- one example of that was her recent purchase of an ipad - this new age marvel has been out less than a year and she saw it as a tool she could use so despite her age she was still very much involved with the world around her -every so often i would receive different publications from her as she thought that i might enjoy them - i always felt a warm fuzzy from her thoughtfulness- she was a beautiful person inside and out and i believe she has left a wonderful legacy in the two daughters that i know best as the positive attributes i have described reside in them as well -you are missed

My Dear Grandma,

I feel very lucky to have spent 36 years with you. We have so many memories together that I will always cherish and keep close to my heart. I think about our vacation to San Diego often. We were all so proud to be there and be a part of Richie’s graduation. I am not the only lucky one Anna and Cade remember our trip to the ocean and will always remember playing cards with you until the wee hours of the morning. I promise to strive to be as loving, caring, strong and as accepting as you. You truly are a beautiful role model for Anna and I to follow. I love you to pieces and miss you terribly.

Lorraine and I are so happy that we finally got to meet you, my first cousin, through your daughter Vicki, back in March 2004. You were a pleasure to be with! We enjoyed your company so much, we stayed too long, and missed our flight back to the east coast!

We again were able to visit with you and enjoy your company in August 2007. Good times for sure! It's unfortunate that our meeting came so late in life and that there were so many miles between us, but we will always have fond memories of you!

You will surely be missed by all who knew you! May you rest in peace...

I thank God every day for the 42 years I had with you. You had the most beautiful smile and wonderful sense of humor. You were the most kind, caring and compassionate person I have known.

Dear Mom,

Let me start by saying the obvious, I miss you very much already. I want to thank you for my life, the love you shared with me, just about everything about me comes from you. I will miss our talks, playing cards, the smiles and tears we shared. I smile when I think back of your wedding to Gene, working with you both at the bank, you guys stuffing backpacks for the Index kids, fishing, and all the family get togethers. Wasn't it Michael F. that said we get together every time one of us gets a hair cut? I am so glad we did.

Vicki and are spending this time together. She is very supportive and we have leaned on each other a lot lately. You left everything in good order and I thank you for it. I am not sure what I will do with my Saturdays- I will have to try to fill a void in my world. I know it won't be easy and it will take time. Terry has been understanding and hurts also.

I want you to know I did see the three otters and called Vicki to come out and watch with me.

I picture you in a wonderful place and want you to save me a seat at a lucky machine. Tell Millie how much she helped Vicki and I and we miss her along with the rest of the family.

Know that you raised good kids and all six of us will work through this. Your children, grand, and great grand kids will have you in their hearts forever. Until we met again...I love you.

Kelsie has always loved you dearly and enjoyed your company greatly, Kiana misses you and wishes she could see again, It was so wonderful to see your smile when we came to your side in your final hours in this life. I smile when I think of how you would bring lunch down to the dock for Dan and I when we stayed with you and Grandpa in the summer. I am thankful that you taught us the value of hard work and saving what we earn. My memories of you will always be cherished in my heart and mind. We love you dearly and pray that we will be reunited with you in heaven.

To all who loved Peggy, We are both going to miss her so much. She was like our mother and I really considered her "my mom" since I lost my mom so long ago. Visiting her was one of the joys of our week. She absolutely always had a smile on her face. My little lady of the lake,

How you brightened up the room with your smile and ever present humor always amazed me. How you could keep Gene in his place was no small task, but you did it well. Keeping track of our ever growing family and making sure no one was forgotten on a birthday, holiday or wedding long before computers was unimaginable. But you were always there. Always with that smile. Always with the warmth and grace that made you special to all of us. How you would shine when you won "big" on a penny slot. Yes, I will miss all this and more.
