Mark Mills Obituary

Mark Mills
Oct. 23, 1960 - Jan. 18, 2011

With cancer behind him and in the presence of family and friends, Mark accepted the Lord's invitation to join Him.
Mark's support team was his wife Teri, his children Zach, Jake and wife Amy.
Additional support came from Janita, Cheryl and Rick, Tim and Dawn, Stephanie and Phil, John and Pat, Rhonda and Bruce, Mike and Melanie, Mark and Tari, Marguerite, Gerri and every aunt, uncle, cousin, niece, nephew, friend, and coworker that were part of Mark's life.
Mark was preceded on his journey by his dad, Lance (2009); and his mom, Patti (1978).
Teri would like to extend her heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Evan Yu and nurse Anne Reese for their love, support and care for Mark. "We could not have done it without you."
Two organizations close to Mark's heart were "Lakeside Community Fellowship Church" and the "Prostate Cancer Fund". Any kindness in his honor would be a blessing.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Snohomish Community Church, 13622 Dubuque Road, Snohomish, WA 98290.

Teri and family,

It is so difficult to write to you at this time, just now hearing of Mark's passing. I admired Mark very much as he and his father worked together in the same business, as my father and I had. He was a man of great integrity and his love for family was an inspiration to us all. I was blessed to know Mark, and I know he is with the lord. My pray are with you as grieve. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Teri and Family,
I just heard of Mark's passing. My heart hurts for you and your family. I hope knowing he was loved by so many gives you comfort.

February 5, 2011

Dear Teri, Family and Friends--
My heart goes out to all of you during this devastating time of loss and grief. Along with so many others, I had no idea Mark was so ill, and I am so saddened and heartbroken about Mark's untimely passing.
Just like his Dad, Lance, Mark was always so vital, positive, upbeat and good, and I adored them both! As a Building Inspector, I worked with Mark and Lance for 30 years and they were both simply the BEST of the BEST--high caliber, conscientious, hard working, fun, wonderful family men. I am just so very, very sorry for you loss and pain and wish you all great love and caring in this sad time. Please take care and may all the Angels surround you with great Strength, Grace and Love in all of the minutes of all of the days ahead.
With love, Carol Richter

Teri & family,
I was saddened by the news, but thinking of Mark makes me smile. He was one of the best men I ever knew and I was proud to call him my friend. I know that Mark is with Jesus and wetting a fishing line with him and smiling down on all of us.

A fellow brother in Christ, all my prayers are with you, may GOD comfort you with his grace and mercies.

The family of Mark Mills,
You also don't know me, but Lance and Mark poured the foundation for our home in 1991. They were referred to me by Steve Wetzel. It was a daylight basement home with lots of angles, 10 foot walls and lots of re-bar. Lance and Mark were both hardworking, friendly, honest and willing to help with suggestions since I was a owner acting as the general contractor. Over the years I have always told people how lucky I was with all of my sub-contractors, particularly Lance and Mark, since the concrete work was the start of everything on the house and having it done right made everyone's job following them easier.

I was saddened to read about Lance a year or so ago and was shocked to read about Mark. I am saddened for your loss, but am confident his integrity will leave a lasting memory in many others who met him during his life.

Teri- My oh my- After reading the wonderful things that so many people have written about Mark, I am sorry that I did not get to know him. I met him once at "Goldilocks". He was truly a light shining in the darkness. God bless and keep you and all of yours and Marks families. God will sustain you- I don't know how but I trust Him. Mark is experiencing what so many of us will at that appointed time- Our Lord face-to-face.

My prayers, thoughts....go out to Teri, the boys, Aunt Marguerite, and all my family. Mark was my cousin. He and my sister Angel (and all of us) would play together up at Aunt Marguerite's and when she turned 90 years old Mark was such a gracious host for her party. He showed me around his beautiful home, such a kind and generous person. Rest in Peace, Mark...may you be re-united with your Mom, whom you lost at too young an age,and your Dad, in a place where there is no pain.

My heart aches for the entire Mills family right now, although I knew that Mark was ill, I was shocked and saddened to get the call this afternoon that he had passed away. I have known the Mills clan for about 19 years now when I became friends with his sister Cheryl. What a wonderful family who truly love and care for each other. I feel blessed to have known Mark and the wonderful man that he was, I know he will be sorely missed!! I hope you can all find peace knowing that he is now resting easy in the arms of our maker, free of pain...and that you can look forward to the glorious reunion you will have with him one day! May God bless you all....rest in peace Mark!

Teri and Family,
Words cannot express how very sorry I am for your loss. These last few days a flood of memories from our youth have filled me with smiles and memories that I have forgotten about. What an honor it was to have know him and all the Mills family. It doesn't seem possible that I won't be running into him at Hagen's anymore. I will miss that smile.
Love,

I am so sorry to hear of your loss, Teri, Zach, and Jake. Mark was such a joy to know and so giving. He gave up much of his time to coach and was a great role model to all of our boys. I know he will be greatly missed by all.

I knew Mark through being at Goldilocks for so many years. Seeing him come and go at times sometimes just coming in to say a sweet hello to Teri. One thing I always noticed and will remember is his smile. He was always smiling and just seeing it made you feel happy inside. I will miss seeing him and that smile of his. I know he is in a wonderful place now and know he will be watching over his family from above.

I'm so sorry for us all, but especially for Teri, Jake and Zach. What a great loss. I enjoyed knowing Mark all these years and was very proud to call him a friend. From the stories of him chasing Ruger through the neighborhood to the "mailbox replacement donation fund" can he put in front of our house, he was a real gem. I'll miss him greatly and think of him often.

Mark will truly be missed by our family. He is one of the most genuine people I know. I will miss seeing his bouquet of roses that came so often to Goldilocks for Teri, his love for her was immeasurable. I am honored to have been able to know him and be a part of his life, and while Marks time here was short he made long lasting memories for us all to remember him by. Thanks for all the great memories Mark!
