Our beloved mother left us on Sunday morning, in the company of the Saints and Angels. Born in Oreana, Idaho, she grew up on farms there, near Willamina, Oregon and Wapato Washington. After marrying, she lived in Portland, Renton, Zillah, and for the past 55 years, near Snohomish, Washington.
She joins her husband of 50 years, John R. Higgins, in Heaven, as well as two daughters, Patricia Ann and Megan Marie.
She is survived by her remaining 10 children, Daniel, (Father Nathaniel), Jacqueline Higgins-Rose-brook, Evelyn Rosebrook, Susan Bishop, John Higgins Jr, Theresa Alexander, Larry Higgins, Erin Higgins, Kevin Higgins and Philip Higgins. She also leaves 37 grand-children; 65 great grand-children; two great great grandchildren; and her one remaining sibling, Charles Hunt of Bueana WA.
She was dearly loved by all who knew her, including more friends than we can count. Mother was always an avid reader, gardener, lover of nature and especially enjoyed watching the birds in her yard. She had devoted her life to serving Jesus and His Blessed Mother. For moral character, devotion to family, and love of country she was a highly qualified member of the "Greatest Generation".
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 17, at Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2316 180th SE, Bothell, WA 98012 at 11 a.m. Everyone is welcome.
Remembrances may be made to the Washington Special Olympics, Disabled American Veterans or Snohomish Co. Search and Rescue.
