I guess it´s aging that compels me to remember more and appreciate that life is the friends we have. It´s not a stretch to realize that those friends are who have given some meaning to life. Thanks for the friendship, Mike.

Dad,
Sorry it has taken me so long to write this. I can't seem to find the right words. I am very blessed to be one of your daughters. Not a day goes by that I don't think about you and miss you. You will always be in my heart. I love you now and forever.
Love,

It has been one month today that you left us. You have family and friends that cared a great deal about you all these years. Some friends have been more like family. I believe there is a fine line between the two. Just like you said, they are all helping with your final expenses and making sure I am taken care of. I am ever so grateful to our family and friends.
Your children set up a donation account to help with expenses. I would like to thank all that donated, as there were deposits made anonymously. Thank you again so much.
The Watter's Family donted money in your name to the "Youth and Family Link", a program of the "Toutle River Ranch". This is a non-profit program for under-privileged children. A tile will be placed on the memorial wall in your honor. Again, thank you so much.
This will be my last entry in your guest book. At times, I don't think your death is real. It is almost like you are out on the road and will walk back through that door at any time. There were so many years you were my best friend and I do miss that relationship. Your quick whit and humor will be missed by all. I have so many good memories with all of us at Lake Margaret, walking around the lake, fishing, swimming and the Sunday dinners. Even the time you introduced yourself as the Vice President at a bank dinner function. That was a good one.
I am sorry your life ended so quickly, but I am glad you did not suffer. The children will gather this summer to spread your ashes, as you wished. I do miss you and maybe we will see each other in another life.
Love, Sue

Today would have been your "60th" Birthday.
I delivered banana bread to the hospital, clinic, hospital billing center and the bank as a "Thank You" for all they did for you. The dental office was closed today, or they would have been included as well.
I am so sorry you will not have more "Birthdays".

Almost 60 years ago you were born on "Mother's Day". What a wonderful gift to have a child born on such a special day. We shared Mother's Day and your Birthday for 31 years. Those days will be missed.

My Dearest Mike,
Two weeks ago today, an ambulance brought you from the hospital to your home, so that you could die in a peaceful surrounding. Your wishes were completed by 6:30 the next morning. Today I brought you home for the last time. You are in a plastic container with your name on it. It is difficult to think you are in that plastic box sitting in our livingroom, but I do know you are at peace with all things.
Love Always,Sue

Well Michael...it's been a long road from two years old, when we first lived next door to one another. As I think back, I could not have chosen a better neighbor or life-long friend.
I am thankful that Hal and I were able to see you in the hospital. My memories are too many to recount and far too valuable to choose.
Okay...a few off the top of my head: running away to Portland, hanging out at the bowling alley, skipping school, helping me be a part of the cool group(though I wasn't very successful at it), swimming at Juanita Beach and fishing at Ballinger.
I have come to understand that an eternal life is not endless years. Rather, I see your kids, and your grandkids....and realize it is through them that you will live on, as you will in my memories.

Dear Michael, I remember well when you came to visit us down in Portland and I told you and Lauren to wait for me to get you ready to fish. However, you and Lauren decided to get the tackle ready while I was sleeping. I was rudely awakened with a horrifying scream because you managed to get a hook from a big lure in your heel of your foot. I had to drive you to the hospital with you screaming all the way and had uncle Wilbur remove that terrible hook. What a day! But I still managed to take you guys fishing and you got a couple of big Carp that day. What an adventure. It seems that you have had many adventures but that one stands out. We will always think of you and know you are up there with grandma and grandpa and all the relatives. We love you Michael. Sarah and Wilbur, Pam, Lauren and Margeaux
