Michael Vincent Obituary

Michael L. Vincent Sr.

On the morning of May 21, 2011 Michael L. Vincent Sr. passed peacefully with his loved ones by his side. Mike was born on August 5, 1943 in Bremerton, WA to Maurice and Marcelyn Vincent. He was the oldest of five children, Dennis Vincent (Candy), John Vincent (Tammy), Sandi Fink (Mylan) and Robert Vincent.
Following in his father's footsteps, Mike served proudly in the United States Navy for over 13 years. He worked for 25 years at the Darrington Fire Department where he served as Chief for many years. Known for his outstanding work ethic, Mike could always be counted on to get the job done. He had an amazing sense of humor and would have never been caught without a joke prepared. Mike had a nickname for everyone that was close to him. Often random and always funny. When he called you by your nickname you knew you were loved. He was extremely reliable and always willing to help out, he did not have the word "no" in his vocabulary. Mike knew exactly how life was supposed to be lived and he lived it to its fullest and when he smiled you just couldn't help but join in.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Marcelyn; and his son, Mike Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle; and his kids, Kathy Emerson (Dennis), Matt Vincent (Pam), Travis Vincent (Jessica) and Kirristi Trickett (Ian).
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at noon at the Darrington Fire Station.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the City of Darrington Old School Park.

To The Vincent Family: Love and prayers to each of you. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I've known Mike and much of the family for as long as I can remember. I'll always remember his love of family, quick wit, and the way he always teased me. I know he will be greatly missed by family, friends and community.

To the family of Mike Vincent, we send our love. We have memories of Mike from the 1970s when we were neighbors in Darrington and friends from then on. For a little humor, I must say I think I'll find the picture of John and Mike when they dressed like women and wore wigs for Halloween one year.

Sandi, you and your family will heal with time and prayers from all of us who knew Mike... I remember him as full of life and humor. Love and sincere heartfelt sympathy to each of you. Shirley "Hall" Fishel

With a heavy heart we say goodbye, yet feel a little peace knowing he is with Mike Jr., Marcy, and those that have gone before him. The jokes and laughter they must be sharing makes me envious. His love for the grandkids and great grandkids will go on through stories, photos and memories. We must all make that known to the youngest ones, as the years go on. We will miss him, Gretchen, Jerry and Riley

Michelle and family. Our heartfelt condolences to you in this terrible time of grief. Mike was one of the rocks that build the foundation of what Darrington is all about. So many of us looked up to him as a man who was always there to help and was dedicated to his family and community. A large hole has been left in the town that can never be filled. With Love, Ron and Linda White

To all of Mike's family, Michelle, all the kids, all his grandchildren, all of his siblings, Mike was loved by the community as he was loved by you and he is mourned by the community with you. There will be a huge hole in our lives without him here. May all of the memories of his many antics help you heal and his love live on forever in your hearts. Blessings on all of you.

Mike was such a wonderful man. I remember when I moved to Darrington. Certain houses were pointed out to me of where people lived. When they told me that the fire chief named Mike Vincent lived in one house, I thought he must be like a famous person. I was right. When I met Mike through my son in law (Sheridan Vincent) I knew he was famous. He was the man everyone loved. I personally will miss you Mike. You always said hello to me and treated me like a real person.

Mike will be missed here yet will move on to a better place where we will all meet again. I love you all and send strenghth and hugs your way during this difficult time! We will miss you Mike! Love Always to all of my second family! -LISA aka (Lucy) by Mike!!!!

Will miss my brother, so much! His phone calls, always making me laugh, making my day brighter! Stay strong Michelle! You have always been his "rock" and best friend, not just his wife. And to his children and grandkids, you were his whole world, all he cared about, worried about, laughed about, and prayed about. I know he loved you all so very much! Your all in my thoughts and prayers during this time of sorrow! There will always be such a void in my life, I will miss him terribly, but I know I will see him again someday, with that great mischevious smile, and I'll always be his "favorite" sister! Love and Hugs to my Family! Sandi Vincent Fink
