Nerys Halvorson Obituary
Nerys E. Crain Wood Halvorson
Nerys was born August 16, 1911 in Marysville, WA. She was the daughter of Lewis M. Crain and L. Gertrude Randall Crain, and the sister of Bernard Crain and Gerwys Crain Michal. Nerys lived in Marysville her entire life.
She was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She was an avid gardener for 77 years, sharing her vegetables, fruits and flowers with family and friends. She was also a volunteer at the Marysville Information Center and the Marysville Historical Society.
Nerys is survived by her children, Elywn D. Wood (wife Gulser) of Covington, LA, Norman E. Wood (wife Eleanor) of Granite Falls, WA and Carol Wood Mason of Shoreline, WA; many grandchildren, Scott Wood (Demet) of Farmington Hills, MI, Kenneth C. Wood Jr. (Christa) of Arlington, WA, Michael Wood (Kimberly) of Lake Bay, WA, Myra Wood White (Loren) of Marysville, WA, Natalie E. Wood of Anchorage, AK, Norm Wood Jr. of Kenai, AK, Mickey Mason (Linda) of Spokane, WA, Jeff Mason (Dee) of Mill Creek, WA, Steve Mason (LaDonna) of Des Moines, WA, Lorre Mason Stimac (Vince) of Wenatchee, WA, Sara Mason Layton (John) of Shoreline, WA, Chris Wood of Maple Valley, WA, and Keith Wood (Kelly) of Maple Valley, WA; great-grandchildren; and wonderful friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Bernard Crain; her sister, Gerwys Crain Michal; her first husband, Elwyn D. Wood; her second husband, Clement A. Halvorson; her son, Gordon K. Wood; and her son, Kenneth C. Wood, Sr., his wife Jackie, their baby Kathie, and their two sons, Barry and Casey Wood.
Nerys' family will plan a celebration of life for later in the summer.
We want to thank her wonderful care givers at Cedar Creek Manor and Providence Hospital Hospice Care, and Pastor Roico of Bethlehem Lutheran Church for his faithful visits, and the very caring hospice nurses and Chaplin.
