Norman Rowe

Norman passed away in Lynnwood, WA on February 14, 2013. He was born April 10, 1943 in Seattle to Bernice and Bert Rowe. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his cousins, Colleen, Julie and John Rowe; good friends, Mike and Georgina Hatch; and many people that knew and loved Norman.
He lived a full and complete life in Lynnwood. He attended Edmonds District Schools, and began his working career at Work Opportunities, an employment program for people with disabilities that his mother and father helped found in 1963. While attending Work Opportunities Norman made many friends and received work training and experience in electronic assembly and other types of work, including janitorial, mailing and general assembly. After training Norman, Work Opportunities helped him find employment in the plastic industry and then the job he loved the best, a courtesy clerk for the James Village Albertsons store. Norman worked at Albertsons for 18 years and was employee of the month on several occasions. He loved his job at Albertsons and genuinely loved his co-employees and their customers. After retirement Norman volunteered at the Carol Rowe Food bank, named after his aunt, Carol Rowe. Norman made friends wherever he went and was well known and liked by many people in the community. His outgoing personality, cheerful disposition and winning smile helped him make friends wherever he went. Norman will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of meeting him, and he left a lasting impression of his strong commitment to being a contributing member of his community, and a fully vested participant in the mainstream of life. Well done Norman, we will all miss you.
A celebration of his life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6215 196 St. SW, Lynnwood at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 28th.
Donation in Norman's memory may be made to Work Opportunities, 6515 202 SW, Lynnwood, WA 98036; Trinity Lutheran Church at above listed address; or Cross Roads Assembly of God Church at 18527 60th Ave. W in Lynnwood.
