Patricia Corn Obituary

Patricia (Pat) L. Corn

Pat L. Corn (Pattie Lou), 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 4, 2011, surrounded by her loving family.
Pat was born January 24, 1926 in Norton, Kansas to Patrick and Elizabeth Keating. Following her father's death, her mother moved Pat and her two sisters to Wichita, KS, where she ultimately met and married her husband, Virgil.
Virgil and Pat started a family in Derby, Kansas where her three children were born. Pat and Virgil decided to start a new adventure and moved their family to Marysville, WA where they have lived for the past 41 years.
After working 22 years at Boeing, Pat retired in 1987. She was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marysville and volunteered her time for Operation Marysville Community Christmas. Pat was known for her sassiness and quick wit and she was admired and loved by all who had the pleasure to meet her. Pat loved spending time with her family and was very proud of her 22 year involvement with AA where she established many special friendships.
Pat is survived by her husband of 60 years, Virgil Corn; sons, Greg (Cheryl), Mark (Sheila); her daughter, and best friend, Christine; 8 grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan, Justin, Jason, Amber, Kataka, Heather and Stephanie; and seven great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 15 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 4200 88th Street, Marysville, WA. A reception will follow in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Alzheimer's Association, 100 West Harrison Street, North Tower-Suite 200 Seattle, WA 98119.

Virgil,
I am sorry to hear about Pat. I sure enjoyed her at the camera club meetings. She was outspoken and down to earth, such a delight.

I expect to see her at the end of my days. She was so friendly, I know she'll come right over and make me feel at home.

Sincerely,
Cindy Burby

I met Pat at Boeing when she became my lead on the first job I had. Pat always had quick wit and continuously kept us laughing. Pat had a way with the Engineers/Draftspeople that no one else could match. One thing I remember that was totally funny is that she loved creamed corn and would bring some for lunch or even a snack, it was ironic because her last name was Corn!! I loved her and will miss the opportunity to see her again, although I do plan on going to heaven where she is now.
