I was good friends with Paul through high school and after. He taught me how to drive a stick-shift in the alley by north-end Herfys in the good ole days. Paul and I remained friends and saw each other on and off through the years and we always had a great time together; he was quite the character. You could always count on Paul to have a wonderful sense of humor. I contacted him around the time of our class of 1970 40th high school reunion and we talked for several hours catching up, laughed a lot, and I hung up with a huge smile on my face. He spoke highly of his family and felt good about some life changes he had made in recent years. He seemed very content in his life. Paul will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Good-bye Paul--Say hi to Scott for me and you two be good.

Paul was always a first class guy. From the time I first met the Thoreen family I knew they were all first class people. Paul was not only a great crewmember on my fishing boat in Alaska he was just a good person to be around. He always had a good sense of humor even when things things would go haywire....he could lighten the mood and get me to smile and relax. He went out of his way to take care of my family through many years of glasses, contacts and eye exams! With all five of us with poor eyesight he was a Godsend.
Paul just had a way about him and the way he carried himself I always admired. My condolences to the Thoreen family, the world has lost one of the good ones. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. May he rest in peace.

To the Thoreen family,
I pray the Lord will be there for you to ease your pain at this difficult time.
I have some fond memories of Paul growing up in Everett when we were teenagers. Going to North Junior High School, YMCA dances, cruising Colby, eating at Herfy's, and hanging out. He was so nice, always glad to see you, treated you with respect, and a fun person to be around. With loving thoughts.

I am so sorry to the Thoreen family for your loss of Paul. He was such a character. I have known him since middle-school and your family even longer through my Great Aunt Polly Pearson and my mom, Joyce Sutton who were both close with Lilly. Paul was very proud of going through school and never missing a day! That was quite an accomplishment! My thoughts are with all of you as you mourn the loss of your brother, son, father, grandfather. He was special and will be remembered fondly.

It was a blessing that Paul was with us long enough to experence the joys of life, He was able enjoy the unending love of his daughter Annie and her husband Josh. Thier love brought Emma and Ethan, Pauls grand children the spark, and the love of his life. Paul left us at the pinnicle of his life, for us all to carry on. My Brother, i love you, and will miss you. Rest now in PEACE
