Paul M. Whitman

Paul Whitman, 92, died March 15, 2011 peacefully at home in Edmonds, WA, with his family by his side.
Paul was born November 6, 1918 in Augusta, GA to Steven and Geneva Whitman. He had five brothers, Joel and James (twins), David, Andrew, and Silas; and one sister, Ruth.
Paul spent his high school years in Ballard (Seattle), WA where he met his wife, Shirley (Gatterdam) Whitman. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. Later, he built his family home in Edmonds in 1946 where he and Shirley would raise three children. Paul worked at Stimpson Mill in Ballard until it closed in the mid 1950s. He then worked in the compressor house of a Boeing plant in Seattle. He retired in 1973.
Paul was preceded in death by Shirley (1993); and leaves two daughters, Roberta Burns of Spokane, WA and Sharon Musgrove (Maurie) of Surrey, B.C.; and one son, Tim Whitman (Jubilee) of Union, WA. He also leaves nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered for his bright eyes, warm smile, and kind heart.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Restlawn Memorial Park, 23800 104th Avenue W, Edmonds.
