Philip Battista Jr. Philip Battista Jr. passed peacefully on September 12, 2013 at Evergreen Hospice in Kirkland, WA. Born in Chicago, IL July 23, 1935, Phil was raised and educated in Kellogg, Idaho and was known by all who knew him as the consummate host, one who was always ready with a warm smile, a glass of vino and a nostalgic Italian song. His mother and father, Mary and Philip Battista Sr.; and his brothers, Carmen and Bill preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Nancy Battista of Lynnwood, WA; and his six children, Jerry Battista (Vicki) of Everett, Lori Witham (Doug) of Stanwood, WA, Mike Battista (Nicole), Jeff Battista (Inger)of Snohomish, WA, Corrine Raines (Tracy) of Bothell, WA and Gina Battista of Port Hadlock, WA. He also leaves behind his wife's siblings whom he always treated like his own kids, Kathy Graffis of Snoqualmie, WA, Melissa Giesa of Sammamish, WA, David Jory of Silverdale, WA and Dennis Jory of Palm Springs, CA. In addition, Phil and Nancy have nine grandchildren; countless friends and neighbors who were extremely close, including the "Garage Guys" who met almost daily for 30 years. Phil will always be remembered for his big heart, his appreciation for vintage autos and his amazing musical talents. When visiting the Battista home, friends and family could always count on being treated to heart-warming songs from his father's "old country" and the best pasta this side of Rome. A Celebration of Life will honor Phil on Saturday, October 19, 3:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 24323 Bothell-Everett Highway in Bothell. The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation for the wonderful caregivers at Evergreen Hospice and request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Evergreen Hospice.
