Ray Campbell, 85, of Marysville, died December 26, 2013. Ray was born July 29, 1928 in Marysville, WA. He married Ruby Cole on June 28, 1949. Ray and Ruby opened Campbell's Drive-In in 1959, and Ray's Drive-In in 1962. They enjoyed watching Ray's become an Everett icon throughout the years while it was passed down through the generations. The couple spent their winters down in Arizona, and came up to spend summers with their family in Everett. They also enjoyed traveling and took many extended trips around the world. He was an avid garage saler and coupon clipper, always going the extra mile to pinch a penny and find a bargain. Ray is preceded in death by his mother and father; four siblings; wife, Ruby; and son, Dick. He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Campbell (Jeff Hegland), and Robyn (Nick) Roth; sister, Maryanne Hines; Robert Cole and Audrey Hunter; grandchildren, Jeff Doleshel, Scott Doleshel, Katie (Lindsay) Diamond, and their father, Steve Doleshel, Amy (Jaycen) Roth-Boober, and Casey Roth; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Abby Doleshel, Josie and Nathan Boober; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ray will be dearly missed. He was a man of intention: life did not happen to him, he happened to life. Memorial service will be held at noon on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Everett. In lieu of flowers, a donation to your local food bank would be greatly appreciated.
