Rex was born July 24, 1935 along with his twin sister, Rosa Lee to John Dee Lewis and Louella Johnson and passed away peacefully September 17, 2013. Rex graduated from Everett High School, went on to marry LaVerne Donaldson in 1954 and had three daughters. Rex served in the Air Force and later the Air Force Active Reserve while employed with the Boeing Co. He later retired from Active reserves with 21 years as MSGT ASAF Flight Engineer. He also went on to retire from Boeing, giving 18 years of knowledge not only in what he learned in the Air Force but many hours of schooling to ultimately land as a Top Blueprint Instructor for the company. Rex taught himself to play the guitar, lead, bass and rhythm. He had his own band in the early 60's while in the Air Force then eventually enjoyed singing and playing with various bands throughout the 1970's and 1980's and settling with his "solo" Good Old Country. He loved to go boating, RV'ing with many clubs, he was a very social person and he had a great sense of humor. He later married a long-time friend, Neva Pugsley, in 1996. He so greatly missed her caring and loving presence after her passing three years ago. He is survived by his sister, Rosa Lee Austin; daughters, Bernadette (Doug) Pokswinski, Kelly (Don) Alverson and Sheri (Todd) Bissell; grandchildren, Sean (Tonya) Bissell, Lindsey (Brady) Rutherford, David Pokswinski, Brandon Kielow, Jimmy Pokswinski and Trevor Kielow; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, JohnDee Lewis Johnson; mother and step father, Lionel and Louella Plante; and grandson, John Pokswinski. Rex will be missed deeply by his family. Services will be held on October 24, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Floral Hills Cemetery, 409 Filbert Road, Lynnwood, WA 98036.
