Richard Ditri Obituary

Richard Louis Ditri Sr.

Richard Ditri, 83, of Everett, went to sleep peacefully with his family at his side on February 2, 2011.
Richard was born on June 1, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan to William and Ines Ditri. Richard's family moved to Anacortes, WA where he later met his loving wife, Beverly. Richard and Beverly were married in Anacortes, WA on February 23, 1952. Later that year they moved to Everett where they made their family home. Throughout his life, Richard had served in the US Army and Army Reserves. After serving in the military Richard worked for Everett Plywood, and various jobs following. He truly was a jack of all trades. Richard retired from The Mukilteo School District in 1994. After retirement Richard and Beverly traveled to Arizona in the winter and Fort Casey, WA in the summer.
Richard was preceded in death by his mother; father; brothers, Angelo and Bob.
Richard is survived by his beautiful wife of 59 years, Beverly; his son, Rick (Sue); daughter, Cheryl (Les); son, Tom; and brother, Bill. Richard is also survived by three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren (with another on the way in May); and MANY friends!
The family would like to thank the Puget Sound Kidney Center, especially Cindy, Shannon, Barb, and Pat. We would also like to thank the Providence Hospice and Home Care of Snohomish County for all of their help and support.
Donations in Richard's name may be made to Puget Sound Kidney Center or Providence Hospice and Home Care of Snohomish County.
As per Richards request, there will be no services.
There will be a private gathering for family and close friends on March 5, 2011.

Beverly and family;
We didn't have a lot of time to get to know Dick, but in the few years we have lived in the neighborhood, we came to really like Dick and his sense of humor. He was a good and caring man and he will really be missed by all who knew him.
My heart breaks for your loss.
With sympathy and caring,
Gaye

Bev,Rick,Tom and Family
I know how much Dick is going to be missed by all of you and me and all his many friends. He was such a great friendly and funny guy. My memories of him are many but the one that comes to mind mostly is when I would be working in the checkstand at Olson's and he would sneak up behind me and give me a big old bear hug and scare me, and when I would turn around he would have the biggest grin on his face from ear to ear. I will really miss him and all his teasing. The family will have lots of great fun memories to fill up that empty spot that is left in their hearts now. Bev you did a tremendous job of taking care of him in his illness and I know he really appreciated it. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you
Love You
