Robert Gene Hundley passed away at home, surrounded by his family, on March 13, 2013, from cancer.

Robert was born on July 19, 1933 in Anacortes, WA to Malene (Stangeland) and Oliver M. Hundley, and graduated from Twin City High School in 1951. He attended Everett Junior College and played football with the 1952 Trojan football team, which won the Washington State Junior College Conference Championship. Robert married his high school sweetheart Darlene Boursaw in 1953.
Robert served as a hospital corpsman with the U.S. Navy from 1954-1956, then graduated from Western Washington College of Education in Bellingham, WA in 1958. Robert joined the Marysville School District in 1959, retiring from the Edmonds School District after 30 years of teaching. In addition to teaching,
Robert worked at Triway Manufacturing and owned his own commercial sweeping business.
Robert enjoyed being with family, working in stained glass, pottery and wood carving, traveling to Europe with Darlene, and in his later years enjoyed gardening and was interested in family history and genealogy.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother, Vernon.
Robert is survived by his wife, Darlene; and children, Denise (Gary) Porter, David (Karla) Hundley, Deanna (Scott) Benjamin, Darryl (Karen) Hundley and Douglas Hundley. He is also survived by grand-children, Allison and Nathan Porter; Megan and Malene Hundley and brother, Donald.
Private services will be held graveside and a public reception will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Marysville, WA on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Providence Hospice.
