Roland A. Hill of Bridgeport, WA passed away unexpectedly on March 22, 2013 after a short illness. Roland was born in Everett, WA to Marian Emily and
Roland A. Hill
William Henry Hill on June 28, 1938. He was a lifelong resident of Everett, until 2006, when he retired to a sunnier climate.
As a young man Roland enlisted in the Navy and served four years on the U.S.S. Norton Sound, Boxer and Ranger. He returned to Everett and met and married the love of his life, Rae in 1961. He worked for Rainier News for years
before becoming owner of Rudy's Tavern in Marysville and eventually opening The Wuz Gonna Tavern in Everett. After selling his business he worked for the Everett School District Maintenance Department for several years before retiring.
He is preceded in death by both his parents; his sister, Sharon Eckley; and his beloved wife, Rae Hill.
He is survived by his sister, Carlyn Greenwood; four children, Cindi Pedersen (Marv), Candie Higgins-Hill (Kathy), Kristi Korzan (Mark) and Don Hill (Gina); six grandchildren, Phil Pedersen (Katelyn), Alison Massey (Bob), Jesica Hill, Candace Slusser (Chris), Britnie Korzan and Korbin Korzan; four great grandchildren; his nephew, Kyle Greenwood (Joan); Doris Cash and family; and his companion, Nancy Hanning.
