Shirley B. Lorenz
She attended Lowell Elementary, South Junior, and Everett High School, class of 1955, "The best class ever."
Shirley moved to Federal Way in 1961 and retired from Boeing in 1995 with The Golden Handshake. In 1997 she became one of the first volunteers at Federal Way police Department, something she was very passionate about. She will be greatly missed.
Shirley loved people, family, and get-togethers.
She is survived by her husband, Dick; three daughter; four step-children; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m., March 11, 2011 at the Pyramid Masonic Center in Federal Way.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to Safe City F.W.P.D., 33325 8th Ave. S., Federal Way, WA, 98003; and Pyramid Masonic Center, 1700 S. 340th St., Federal Way, WA, 98003.

Thank you to all of the wonderful family and friends that came to my Mom's Celebration of Life today. She would have been so humbled to know so many people were there for her and us!
She had a great life and was the best Mom and Grandma ever!

To the family of Shirley Branson Lorenz: I also grew up with Shirley,Fred and their parents,Val and Lola when they lived on Lowell Road. I have pictures of myself and Shirley and the gang on Lowell Road, and View place(now known as Gale place). Back in the 50's,they would close down Broadway and we all got out our sleds. Lowell road was steep, and we would get going at a good clip and slide down the hill onto broadway. It was the main steet ,long before the freeway came to Everett. Shirley took such good care of me and she was the only one my mom would trust. I was much younger by about 10-11 yrs. Shirley was pictured in a lot of my birthday party pictures. She really took a liking to my mom, {Margaret Thompson) and spent a lot of time at our house. Shirley took me to the First Methodist Church on Broadway every Sunday, for several years. I remember her first born,memory isn't always real accurate,but I think her name was Teri. I was so proud because I got to hold you and help give you a bath. Funny the things you never forget. Your mom was the greatest,with the biggest smile!! Even though it had been yrs since I've seen her, I 'd recognize that smile anywhere. I know that she was proud of each one of you and am so grateful for the joy each of you brought to her!! Shirley was so loyal and stayed in touch with my mom. She came to visit my mom on several occasions, and my mom and step dad, Bill Sager, went down to Federal Way to visit them. Bill shared with me that the house was overlooking the lake,and that Shirley was so very proud of that place and loved showing them around. Bill still lives in that house on Lowell Road and I'm there just about 5days a week or more. I look over at the house on the corner of Lowell Rd and Gale Place , and still refer to it as the Branson house. May you find comfort in the memories that you have shared . Dear Family of Shirley Lorenz: I grew up with Shirley and her brother. Fred on Lowell Rd in S. Everett in the 1950's. Shirley was 3 yrs older than me so I only have limited memories of her. I recall going to their house many times to play the card game, canasta. Fred and I would play by the hours. It was a very popular game back in that time. I have always wondered where Shirley and Fred had gone to. Not knowing their classmate friends, I did not know where to start. Glad to hear that Shirley had a family and it sounds like she lived a very good life. Her smile in the photo says it all for me. I pray that all of you will think of her goodness and your good times to help you thru this difficult time. I would love to hear about her brother, Fred. Feel free to email me with any comments.
