Terris "Vince" Hetland

Vince Hetland lost his short battle with cancer in the early morning of April 16, 2011.
Vince was born in Aurora, IL on September 15, 1933, but grew up in Southern California. He then moved to Washington and spent several years living in Hamilton, Montana before returning to Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Terris and Deborah Hetland; his brother, Harvey Hetland; and son, Jeffrey Hetland.
He leaves behind his special companion, Cory; his children, daughter, Alita Hetland of San Diego, CA; son, Eric Hetland of San Diego, CA; son, Gregory (Lillie) Hetland of Monroe, WA; daughter, Aimee Hetland of Darby, MT; and son, Terris Hetland, of Sequim, WA; and many grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and treasured friends.
Vince had a love of the outdoors and spent his early years fishing and backpacking and later began bird watching and feeding the birds and squirrels. He took an interest in aviation and obtained his single engine pilot's license. He spent time flying his own Cessna. He was also an accomplished carpenter. Vince worked in the building trade for most of his life. He built many, many houses in Washington and Montana. Everything Vince did, he did to perfection. He will be remembered for his straight-forward approach to life. He will be missed by many and our wish now is to celebrate his life.

A memorial service will be held on May 7, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Solie Funeral Home in Everett, WA. A gathering for friends and family will immediately follow at the Everett Eagles, 1216 North Broadway.
