Vernon Titmus Obituary

Vernon J. "Bill" Titmus

Vernon "Bill" Titmus was taken from us suddenly on Friday, January 21, 2011 after a brief illness.
He was born August 17, 1932 in Frontenac, Kansas and resided and worked for most of his life in the Everett/Seattle area until he retired and split his time between Coulee City, WA, Bullhead City, AZ, and Las Vegas, NV.
During his career with the Boys and Girls Club of America, as a teacher and a coach, he had a profound and lasting impact on the lives of countless young people.
A memorial service open to all will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Olympic View Middle School in Mukilteo. Please join us in sharing happy memories and bidding goodbye for now to this special man.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Bill Titmus Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o the Boys and Girls Club of Snohomish County, 9502 19th Avenue SE, Suite F, Everett, WA. 98208. In his honor, this fund will be used to defray the participation expenses of kids from disadvantaged families in organized athletics.

Iam very sorry to hear about Bills passing. Bill was the director and scout leader at the greenwood boys club for me from the early 50s to the early 60s. He was like a father to a lot of us. He set a great example with a little discipline on the side. We need more leaders of young men and women like Bill.

Words cannot express how sorry I am to hear of Mr. T's passing. I have many fond memories of the banter we shared when he would grace us with his presence at Safeway. Great man, great family, life well lived. My thoughts are with you and your family Terry...
