June Gloria Hujus, our loving mother, our pillar of strength, and dearest friend passed away Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the age of 83. The daughter of Peter and Pauline Leinweber, mom was born in Goshen, New York and raised in Pine Island, New York with her younger brother and their close knit extended family. Upon graduating from high school Mom attended nursing school where she met the one and only love of her life, Bill Hujus whom she traveled across country with to raise their family in Marysville, WA. Always the loving parents, mom and dad promised each other their girls would never go without. They stayed true to that promise. Outside of being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, the most important role Mom played was that of being a devoted pediatric nurse to the thousands of infants and children she served during her 36 years at Everett General Hospital. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill, she is survived by her brother, Peter (Anita) Leinweber of Scottsdale, AZ; her daughters, Peggy (Jack) Pease, Mary (Bruce) Nyblod, Carol (Roger) Fisher; her eight grandchildren, and six and one-half great grandchildren. Our family would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the care givers from Premier Care Living Adult Family home who have tended to mom the past 10 months, they truly are angels on earth.
