Elvera M. Pederson was born September 2, 1919 in Everett, WA to Osin and Ingeborg Stuvland. Vera passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 26, 2014. She was surrounded by her family in her final days. Vera's family moved from the house her father built on Pine Street in Everett to a small farm in Granite Falls, WA when she was 10 years old. She graduated from Granite Falls H.S. in 1938. She was married to Andy Pederson on January 25, 1941. Vera loved her family and enjoyed baking and canning for all. She loved to walk and could be seen walking around Arlington, WA several days a week for many years. Vera played a lot of cribbage over the years with family and was happiest when she beat Dad, more often than he cared to admit. After Dad passed on, she continued playing crib with her sisters-in-law, until her eyes started failing. She will be remembered for the countless afghans and slippers she knitted for family and friends throughout the years. Vera is survived by sons: Gary Pederson (Rosa) of Ben Salem, Pennsylvania; Ron Pederson (Judy) of Marysville; daughter, Patty Bray (Dennis) of Arlington; sister-in-law, Luella Pederson of Arlington; six grandchildren: Annette Mauldin (Dale), Jeff Pederson (Joanne), Donald Pederson (Sally), Randy Pederson (Sarah), Blake Bray (Ashley), Brandon Bray (Jenna); great-grandchildren: Kayla, Laura, Alicia, Ariel, Tyler, Emily, JacLynne, Matthew, and Jenny; great great-grandchildren: Bailey, Breanne, Bentley, Allison, and Haily; and numerous nieces and nephews. Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Andy; brother, Wesley Stuvland; and sister, Babe Mack. A special thanks to ARNP Betty Westfall and all the caregivers at Silverado of Everett, where Mom spent her last 3½ years, and Providence Hospice for their loving care. A family graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 11 a.m. Remembrances can be made to Stillaguamish Valley Pioneer Museum or Providence Hospice.
