Gene Ann Frostad, 72, of Mukilteo, Washington and Kenai, Alaska passed away unexpectedly on March 25, 2014, surrounded by her family. Gene Ann was born December 14, 1941, in Centralia, Washington to LeRoy and Nora Teasdale. She graduated from Centralia High School in 1960 and Shoreline College in 1973. In her early adult life Gene Ann worked in the dental hygiene field in California and Washington. However, most of her life she chose to be a dedicated wife and mother. Commercial fishing was a large part of her life for the past four decades, where she served as mother hen for the family's set-net operation on Salamatof Beach in Kenai, Alaska. Gene Ann was a championship-level softball player as a young woman, and as an adult she enjoyed watching Mariners Baseball, both in Peoria, Arizona and at Safeco Field. She enjoyed puzzles, decorating her home in great detail for each holiday, and spending time with family. As a wife, mother, and grandmother, she was full of love that extended beyond her immediate family, enthusiastically supporting and encouraging her children and grandchildren in everything they did. She was preceded in death by her son, Carl Frostad; her father and mother, LeRoy and Nora Teasdale; her twin brother, David Teasdale; her sister, Sharla Robinson; and brother, LeRoy Teasdale. Gene Ann is survived by her husband, Lars Frostad; children, Marcia Stewart, Lisa Davis, Kathy and Louie Egashira, and Sarah and Jason Hudkins; and grand-children, Jamie Stewart, Josh Heying, and Shayla, Trenton, and Gavin Hudkins; as well as an extended family and a friendship circle of lives that she touched deeply. This courageous, strong, and optimistic woman will be greatly missed by the many people whose lives she was a part of.
