Virginia "Virgie" Bliss (Manwell) Virginia "Virgie" Bliss (Manwell) was born in Aberdeen, WA on Christmas Day, 1912. She passed away peacefully with her daughters at her side on April 25, 2014. She outlived eight brothers and sisters who all grew up on Chicago street in Aberdeen. She was always petite even though she consumed a great amount of sweets for most of her life. She had a passion for card games, as did most of her family, and was masterful at Bridge. She married the love of her life, Herman Bliss, after moving to Everett in 1941. Win or lose, she always liked watching the Mariners, especially Ichiro. She also enjoyed trout fishing with the Hubbles at Mason Lake, swimming, golfing, clam digging, blackberry picking, gardening, dancing and an occasional casino visit. She was always active with family and was known for doing things her way. Virgie is survived by her daughters, Barbara Oczkewicz and Mari Davis (Gil); stepdaughter, Sharon Franke; her very special nephew, Ron Giuntoli; grandchildren, D'Ann Gidos and Tim Oczkewicz, Teri Johnson (Brian), and Adam Barton; great-grandchildren, Chris Gidos and Nathan Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family especially wants to thank the staff at Grays Harbor Health and Rehab for the wonderful care they provided to Virgie. There will be a Celebration of life for Virgie on May 10, 2014 at the Davis residence, 212 E. 8th St. Aberdeen, between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
